This year’s Tehri Lake Festival was organized on February 16th and 17th.

It is considered Asia’s biggest lake carnival which is organized every year to boost adventure sports, yoga, culture, and food amongst people of Uttarakhand and the neighboring states to increase tourism so that Uttarakhand can be developed as a tourism hub.

It is a 2-day event with each day having a list of cultural as well as watersport activities.

The festival is a perfect amalgamation of adventure sport and cultural entertainment.

Under adventure sports, the activities are paragliding, Hot air balloon, waterskiing, jet skiing, and aerial skills showcased by adventure experts.

Entertainment activities entail live musical shows by artists from both Garhwal and Kumaon region.

Jagar Samrath Padmshri Dr. Pritam bharatwan with his team performed in the opening ceremony.

Such an event provides a platform to the local artist as well as open opportunities for other medium and small enterprises to promote their products.

Tehri jheel is also home to certain migratory birds.

Events like these promote the foods and fruits grown across the state along with art and craft works done by locals.
